It is best
to make your request when you book Delta Airlines Tickets. The more information
you can provide our representatives when making your travel plans, the more
prepared we can be to assist you. Our representatives will answer questions,
discuss your specific needs, and alert you to notifications and procedures.
There are
certain medical conditions with some people who need special services while
traveling by air. It is crucial to have emergency medicines or medical
equipment for precautions. Now, in this blog, you’ll get the information about
how we ensure a safe journey for our customers and what kind of medical
assistance we provide to them.
ASSISTIVE DEVICES & MEDICATION
If you’re
traveling with a medical device or medication, contact Delta Airlines
Reservations. Inform about your medical conditions and requirements while
booking your cheap journey with us.
Powering a Medical Device
Though
onboard Delta aircraft, electrical outlets are available, yet these are not
made to support medical device use. For medical devices, we do not provide
onboard sources of power, so you must bring a source of battery power if you’re
planning on bringing a device.
To power
your medical device, you must bring batteries. Regardless of how long you
choose to use the item, your assistive device must have 150% of your actual flight
time in battery life. While the device is in use, the appropriate number of
batteries should be calculated using the manufacturer’s estimate for battery
life
You can look
up the estimated departure and arrival times by contacting Delta AirlinesReservations, but assume it will be the time to get from departure gate to
arrival gate.
ONBOARD MEDICAL OXYGEN
Delta no
longer provides compressed medical oxygen. Also, please keep in mind that Delta
does allow you to use approved Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) with at
least 48 hours advance notice. On any Delta or Delta Connection flights,
personal oxygen systems containing liquid oxygen are not accepted.
Portable Oxygen Concentrators
A rented,
approved POC or your own FAA approved POC is allowed in the aircraft cabin.
Please complete our POC Approval and Battery Approval Request form and fax or
email it to our oxygen provider OxygenToGo®, at least 48 hours prior to
departure.
If a partner
airline operates your Delta-ticketed flight, contact them directly for their
policy regarding medical oxygen or inquire with OxygenToGo®.
If you
intend to use a POC, you cannot be seated in an exit row or bulkhead. Your POC
does not count toward your carry-on baggage limit, but must meet the following
conditions to be allowed on board:
· If not in use, the battery should be
removed and packaged separately.
· The packaged battery terminals should
not contact any metal objects, and the battery should have a recessed battery
terminal.
